N62 engine rebuild- Anybody here done this?

N62 engine rebuild- Anybody here done this?
My 550 has rod knock. My guess was a friend who borrowed it didn't check the oil and drove it with its many leaks.
Plans are to replace rod bearings and any gasket I find. Anybody have further suggestions for what else should be done? Repair manuals? Clearance suggestions?

GOOGLE is your friend, I remember reading a thread on this not too long ago, if not here was on another bmw forum....
