Default N52 RPM bounces on cold start only on park gear

Hello,
anyone have a idea why the car RPM bounces on morning start, on a e60 523i n52 automatic and only if the shift transmission is in park?
also i have notice delay in changing from 2 to 3 gear in the morning or after a long stay.
Not sure but i think is time for gearbox oil change

I certainly recommend changing transmission fluid. It's not an awful DIY but it is a very specific process and the car must be raised and level to do it. If you decide to DIY, make sure to loosen the fill plug before draining just in case it's stuck.

The bouncing RPM on start is a common issue with earlier N52 engines. I don't remember the details any more but I decided to let my '06 530xi bounce. It calms down in a minute or so.

Yes it takes less the 5 sec and everything is normal. Also, it seams if i use only 98 premium gasoline its better in the mornings

thanks

Could also be the DISA air values. There are two of them from what I can see in your car. They adjust the air intake flow. Sometimes they stop functioning or the flap breaks off.

got just one and dont think that DISA is the problem because now that I use 102 ultimate from Aral, it starts normally.
So, premium car brand needs premium gasoline 😂

If you have to go that high in octane to not have issues then you're only masking the real issue. You need to find out what your problem is on ignition while the engine is cold.

Try running some fuel injector cleaner through the fuel for about three tank fulls. This settled mine down but also told me that I needed to either get cleaned or replace my fuel injectors. I’m at 215,000 on mine.

Seams that this engine is not a engine for short runs like 25km city drive. The problem was fixed after a long autobahn drive 1500km, since then no more problem on start, also use more often 98 gasoline and change fuel station.
Btw my car has 276.000km and still runs good.
Got to love the n52 engine
