Hello All,
I know it has been a while. It is hard getting use to being back in the states. Not for me but keeping my wife out of all the stores and malls is hard
I have finally sold my MY04 E60. Now it is time to order my MY05 E60 and I am being told that they have stop making MY05 E60. Is this true or is someone blowing smoke up my a..
I am being told that MY06 will start production in March or April. This is due to an upgraded engine and a few other things. What is really going on????

I wish I knew too... We have info that only the cars with new engines will change
to MY06 this SPRING. But I still doubt that they could run different MYs at the same time
on the same line..... For modifications have a look at the relative current thread.

Did you end up selling it from your ebay site, or some other advertisement. How long did you have it on the market? At least it's sold and you can look forward to a new one. From what I can tell from this board and from what others have heard from their dealers, the R6 engine will introduce itself into MY'06 vehicles (545 to remain MY'05). If you have a SA you trust, ask them. I tend to believe this may be true as there is more than just one person stating that they've talked to their sales agent and it has been confirmed.

Why do you guy's in the usa have such a funny MY system ?
Here in South Africa a car is a 2005 model on 1 January 2005, any changes and it stays a 2005 model
2006 model starts 1 January 2006

congrats, hope it was a good deal.
It is true, that there are differences in the engines.
But this DOES NOT make it a new MY. Everybody in the US seems to think this way. But this is just a change, not a complete new MY.

Iceman, BMWNA says that the R6 engine cars Will be MY2006 but in other parts of the world this may not be the case. This was told to me and confirmed by a Rep from BMWNA. But I guess time will tell.

well thats the problem, we are backwards here
, and the lawyers are probably behind it, nevertheless, in the US, the new engines will become a new MY

In the US (California) today a dealer pulled up a new E60 order sheet for me that confirms 2006MY production Cycle: 3/05
The best part of the document was that active steering is not OUT of the Sport Package. Active (217) is now a stand alone option.
Anthracite headline and NASCA leather are Priority 1 options.
