Just so I don't feel left out here's my UK 530d pressure tab:

MY05 changed runflat tire pressure recs?-pressure.jpg

For the 124 18" (245/40 & 275/35) this is 35/36 to 39/43.5psi

Anyone else got a 530d with different recommendations? (MY05?)

Lessee now for 18" Dunlop run flats.

My door jamb
32/35 Normal Load
38/42 Max Load
firewired
36/44 regardless of load
with notation to see owner's manual for more info which includes the same info as on my door jamb.

So, the $64 question is why the 44# pressure for the rear on firewired -- or the 36# front either? The only premature wear that I can recall in the forum was down the middle which would include over inflation, not under, but the firewired's catch-all sticker seems to be aimed toward over inflation.

At any rate, I am heading out this WE for a 2000 mile romp with a lightly loaded vehicle. I am already aired at 32/35. Do I change it?

....Or, just type:

"x bar in psi" (where x is a number, obviously) into Google.

Waaaaaaaaay cool. Works with everything.

I think 3 bar should be enough for our tyres

You're right... I've just been scuba diving on Hawaii... Need more than 3 bar for that...

I just checked my tire pressure on the Dunlop run flats. It was 29psi in front and 31psi in back. I guess FTM did not holla because they had gone down evenly. I took them up to 32psi front and 36psi back. Made a huge difference in handling. Can feel more road too. The pavement was pretty good on my short drive. We will see how she handles Los Angeles' messed up roads. Also drove for a mile without re-initializing FTM. It made no comment. Again I assume because the tire pressure was even.

It is common for a dealer shop to air ALL tires on ALL models to 32. The folks on the gauge are usually the lowest on the totem pole. Training is easier if they all do the same, I guess, and 32 must be a reasonably safe number.

my tires were running at the load as listed on that black US label in PSI and the steering was very odd and annoying with our roads in Ohio which melt in summer and end up with grooves from large trucks. In those ruts, the car wants to steer itself in and out of those ruts with these tires, especially when the tires are low inflated.

When I boost the pressures slightly above those 32psi levels, the ride improves dramatically. I've bumped them up to 34-35 on the front and a bit more in the rear. I have about 6,000 miles on it now and don't see any uneven wear on the tread.

These rfts seem extremely sensitive to pressure levels, and it seems like keep an eye on their pressure constantly (well, like monthly or so) might be worth doing because of ambient temp fluctuations.

Has anyone else sensed this too?

Yes me! Two post earlier. But wait, I know the handling improves but the Ride too? Are you sure?
