Wow - that's pretty bad deterioration even on a black car in the hot southern USA. As you've learned it's an inexpensive and easily accomplished DIY.
That said, I'd personally be inclined point it out to your local dealer since we should expect far superior quality from BMW. Maybe the original supplier to BMW produced a batch of poor parts and BMW might admit to a known issue and offer to do a good-will replacement.
And we all pray that particular supplier isn't supplying critical rubber parts like suspension bushings, etc

Thanks a lot for the help and advice! I am bringing the car to the dealer on monday and hopefuly they will be good about replacing it, if not than I will just replace it myself thanks again!
