If my calculations are correct about 480 miles out of a 70litre tank is about 35mpg......what calculation do you use for your above statement out of interest?

1 UK Gallon = 4.54609 litres ( US gallons are smaller)

70 litres = 15.398 gallons

550 miles thus = 35.7 MPG

ressla 09-01-2007 05:54 AM

BTW 480miles = 31.17 MPG

I stand corrected - Thanks for that.

I suppose it could be said that the quoted 550 miles is not a complete 70litres as no one empties a complete tank.....so a further say 20miles might be possible out of what is left bringing it up to near 37mpg - just a thought?

Ok, my 545i is better (really astonishing, considered it is petrol V8) :

Attachment 37029

(pls change extension from .doc to .mp4)

That consumption was reset 50 kms before .
(the road was plain)

A comment by Andy pls :) :)

ey all, sorry mis info there, on this particular occassion the consumtion was less, but usually if n a motorway like today, 580 was a posssibility, will get some pics up shortly, watch this

Thread.

On regular tank around town, without using the full 285bhp, i tend to get around 480 to 500ish, on motorways like the M1 today, traffic free, the needle was on 50mpg and crusing between 70-85 no problem

5 passengers and luggage.

will get some pics up shortly

not much to say Alex, I'd rather see videos showing the fuel consumption indicator on the other side of the arc...

No, you didn't understand: yesterday morning I go out from the garage in the centre of my city, resetting the consumption .
I go to Como lake, with 50 km highway and some other little roads for 20 km . In the evening, back to home, the CdB shows 10.9 kml, that is unbelievable for a V8 petrol with 4 people on board :)

Last week I did a 30 mile motorway journey at around 70 mph.

Then stopped and filled up.

Range indicator showed 634 miles !!

All I needed to do was drive 634 miles on a flat empty motorway at 70mph to get his fabulous result from a tank of fuel.

:D

I drowe from Copenhahen to Stockholm (650 km's) this summer, and after 300 km's of Swedish highway @ 125 km/h, I stopped and refueled - 1206 km's to empty tank!!!!

4 persons and the trunk was full of our stuff

some confusement here, as i can see, the objective is of this thread was that in normal driving, or even on a motorway, this car returns fantastic mpg, in the region of 550 to 580 miles in a full tank of aproximately 70 litres.

Thats because of my ecu has been remapped. Without the remap i remember driving reall conservatively and managing in the mid 400s only.

As mentioned earlier i have another pic that i couldnt put last time, as i was at home, at work now with bluetooth connection on computer.

Take a look.
