Who ever designed NY/NJ Road must be a suck up... Jeez, every block has insane pot holes... whats up with that!!!
Other day I hit some pot hole and i thought wheel+tires would have popped off lol.. thats how much sound it made @ 60MPH... I hope BMW took these pot holes into consideration when designing wheels.. I doubt they have this many pot-holes in Europe.

If you decide to go back to BMW for the wheels you may want to take a picture of the pothole so they can see what caused the damage. Its just a suggestion given the amount of damage on the rims.
I wish I can take some pictures, but this happened on really busy highway.

Crazy, good thing no one was hurt. It does look odd for both wheels to severly crack in the middle. Isn't it odd for both wheels to crack in the middle like that? Maybe some sort of design flaw or weakness on the middle spot of the wheel.

I just spoke to somebody from BMW NA, and the only advice that they gave me was "We do not recommend driving over potholes"

I have heard of a similar incident overhere, and the driver sued
the county/state for poor road care - the county/state lost!
Potholes that distroy rims are a danger to life, so you should win easy!

I dont know the law in your state, but I think suing the county/state over the value of rims sounds like a lot of work. You would probably wind up paying a lawyer more than the cost of the rims by the time their hours were all added up. UGH. Then again, you could try filing yourself in small claims court, where basically, anything goes......
All that legal stuff aside, my thought is that its BS that they're totalled from regular driving. If they were bent, but still drivable, I would say you are SH*T out of luck. But to be a total loss? That's pretty silly.
I think you should call customer relations at BMWNA. I called them 4-5 months ago after having an issue with my navigation computer module that was "not" covered by my CPO warranty. The problem was an electrical short that kept killing the battery. I politely called and explained that, if it was just an issue that effected the use of the navigation, but still left the car operable, I would agree. But when it affected my ability to drive the car at all (or "safely" - in your case), then it went beyond the warranty terms and was something they should handle.
They were very nice and agreed to split the cost of the repair with me out of customer loyalty. Must have worked, since I just bought another BMW.
The folks at BMWNA are very nice to deal with.....might be worth a call.

Today I bought new rims, it cost me $320 for front one and $360 for rear. Tomorrow my tires will arrive. I might call my insurance company let see what they have to say.
