Outstanding! A great story and a sensible purchase too! I am looking at putting a friend of mines sister into a 2002 325i. Her first BMW as well.

Cool man, I have naother 6 years until my daughter and I get to go car shopping. Although I like the BMW idea for her, we're leaning towards a lifted bright red, single seat pick up Gonna make that thing pop so everyone sees her and knows where she is.....hahaha!!! She actually loves the idea!

Thanks to everyone. It's really cool to read thru the comments. The '02 model year seems to have been a solid, reliable one and the all wheel drive for the ice is so important up there. His lady friends should like it, too. It's got fold downs.

yea i had an 2000 3er.. i loved it.. i bought it preowned... i had the car for about a year.. and started to lease.... but i can say thats what gave me the bimmer bug.....

Oh how I miss my 03 325xi , I was very unsure of the switch from the 3 to my 5 I had put lots of love intot he 3 but I needed something bigger for the family. Congrats on the "new" 3 series e46's are great cars still my favorite bmw body style.
