Pete- Beautiful car. Did you get the 166s from the dealer? How did you get that lower front bumper with the large center oval? Looks great!

A fabulous looking car!
I must say the 2008 interior stands apart, even more so with your choice of colours. Very nice

thanks for the comments!

I ordered the 166s separately from Lissy Tuning in Germany, because they are a non-factory option and my dealer could not offer me a competitive quote.

As for the front bumper, this is the standard factory delivered M-Sport bumper which comes as part of the M-Sport pack... and I agree, it does look great

I totally agree, some of the new interior colours offered with LCI really enable you to have a far stronger contrast between the various trims and materials. I like the look/shape of the sports seats and they really stand out with this combo

Seeing as my "new ride" post has been resurrected, I'll give a quick update...

I have now covered 11500km in my first 2 months -- which is even a lot by my standards -- and the car really improved over time.

The first 3000km felt as though the car really was not giving everything it could and the fuel consumption was very high; 8,9L/100km

From 3000km to 10000km the car started to feel a little looser and felt as though it was giving me more performance above 3500rpm. Fuel consumption dropped to around 8,4L/100km

After passing the 10000km mark, it really has started feeling great, giving me very smooth performance all the way up to 4500rpm where the auto goes up to the next gear. I had this with my last BMWs as well, after 10000 is was as if the car gave me its full 100%. So I am really pleased with how the car has improved and the performance / drive it is giving me now The fuel economy for the last 1500km has actually been at 7,2L/100km, but this could also be due to the poor weather and the fact that I cannot do this...

Congrats xBMWx,

What a nice looking car, Pete

Good pics and very nice reporting, much appreciated!

Even if I'm happy with my M57D20TU engine (177 hv@4000 rpm and 350 Nm@1750-2500rpm)
I probably would like to have a bit more torgue at lower rpm (just like in the 525d).

My cars consumpion has been 6,3 l / 100 km according to the iDrive
and 6,5 calculated with the trip meter and filled diesel.

Please send in some pics of your car with the 166 rims on!

BMW changed the headrests sometime after the LCI -- the following thread might shed more light on things...
The BMW MY '08 in EU starts from September.

The US model year changes already in March.
