I figured I'd make a thread for my new ride.

Was looking for a low mileage 535i here in Dallas. Took a bit, since most cars in my price range were 90K+ miles.

Found a 2008 535i with 51k miles at a local dealer. Paid 16k for it.

2 owner car. Sport Package, Navigation, HD radio, Premium Package.

Paint is good, but it does have a few small dings and some paint damage to the front bumper. Since I will most likely get a M-tech bumper it doesn't really matter. Interior was perfect.

Had to do some basic maintenance since maintenance history was unknown.


1. Motorized Sunshade broken, dealer I bought it from got me the entire assembly, but i had to install it. What a pain in the ass, had to remove rear seats and all the trim and the rear shelf. 4 hours total. Works now.
2. Amsoil 5w40 european formula oil change, since I didn't know when last oil change was done
3. New air filter, new cabin filters, new spark plugs.
4. Replaced Low pressure fuel sensor, had a code for it
5. Walnut Blasting - Bought the wand attachement and did it myself.
6. Headlights polished due to them being hazy, replaced the headlight rubber trim because it was sticky and falling apart.
7. MHD tune after walnut blasting, for some free horsepower, running 16psi boost, will need intercooler soon to keep IAT's in check.

Still need to replace passenger mirror, since when I unfold it it goes past normal position and I can't adjust it back. Locating pins seem to be worn out.
Got new downpipes with no cats, waiting to be installed. Need also new floor mats.

Ordered new Bavsound front speakers, to get better sound, since the basic hifi setup sounds awful. Next will be a Helix Match P82DSP amp with technic harness.

CiC retrofit later this year.

Did some Coding also, deleted seatbelt chime and navigation warning. Unlock doors on key removal. Got ISTA/D running on my laptop and also Icarly and MHD on my phone for on the road.

Hey nice pick up! Good list of mods started. At first i was thinking your ride was black, then maybe that dark blue...but after seeing your hood up the engine bay looks way more lite blue than the outside. Is it just lighting? been resprayed?

 

Its Monaco blue, no repaint. All original. It was just the lighting that makes it look black.

 

Got my Bavsound front speaker upgrade today. I must say they look very nice. Very good construction. I will be ordering a DSP amp soon.

 

I also picked up these DR Euro downpipes from a forum member for a steal. I would normally get the intercooler upgrade first, but these were too good to pass up.

 

I scored a PP82DSP and it is awesome. There is an e90 forum members(6spdcoupe) located in Jersey who can ship it out to you, or if you live close by he can do the install. If he does the install you don't need to buy Technic's harnass, if you install seek out Technic to buy his harness.

While installing the downpipes I saw the swaybar end links torn up, so I ordered some new Lemfoerder ones.

Pretty quick job to swap them.

Nice e60! Looks like you're headed in the right direction with it too.

If you're still in need of floor mats I have a set of weathertech all-weather that I could let go of cheap. Nice mats, but they were just a bit too thick and grabbed the tip of my clutch pedal. Not a problem for you AT guys.

 

I picked up new factory bmw ones recently. So i am good for now.
