If you marry an Asian girl, the guests' gift should take care of the wedding reception cost plus some grands left over for honeymoon. You just have to cough up the engagement ring and other miscellaneous wedding items.

When I get married, I am going to have a wedding party in 3 places!
First place in Hong Kong where my relatives and some friends are there. Then Guangzhou (hope I spelled it right or let's make it easier...Canton), China. That's where my fiancee's relatives are. Lastly, New York. I'll probably go broke. REAL BROKE! Gotta save up more $$. And my parents is only accepting The Penninsula Hotel or Four Seaons Hotel in Hong Kong That's a good $1,000,000HKD. I think we should all get together and give Phi a wedding gift. Who's in? You dont have to put in $100. Every little bit counts.

The guests' gifts SHOULD take care of the wedding reception depending on where you go. Usually, it is $100 per person as a gift who goes. If you're really good friends, then maybe $400 to $600 for two guests to go. It's all up to you but basically, $100 per person.
