Mine went in last Tuesday. Got it back on Friday. Screen went blank on Sunday. I called today and got no return call. We'll see. I am not happy.

Got my car back last Friday. Software updated to latest version and the CCC was recoded. Four days already and so far, no blank screens. Only time will tell if the problem is truly solved. But so far so good.

My 07 just went back into the shop, now for the 3rd time for iDrive issues. Last time they upgraded the s/w to v27. Now I'm getting a new CCC. The car's been laid up for a total of 3 weeks.

I'm on a lease with 10 months left to go. 530i's are no long sold in the U.S. When does the subjected of an assisted buy back (or rather just a car exchange) come in to play? I'm being treated well, but there comes a point....

If they fix the issue, it won?t come up. You should be able to request compensation for the 3 weeks however that the vehicle was off the road. Tell your SA he should speak with the right folks at NA customer service.

Right, that's what they're supposed to be doing now, but today marks the 5th day that they've had my car. Will the new CCC really fix the problem?

They should check the faults but it will probably point to the need to replace the CCC. They will open up a PUMA and then replace it.

Hi guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I had my car reprogrammed to v27.2 to fix this same issue. It was fine for several days but then the same problem occurred again. The dealer said they cannot open a PUMA case until they can repeat the problem - which of course never happens when the car is in for service. So now I have to wait for the problem to occur again when I am close enough to the dealer to drive in immediately and have them verify the issue themselves.

I hope BMW-NA is listening. This is becomming a major source of dissatisfaction.

Got CCC replaced twice with no question from the dealer... but just after I had contacted BMW France.. It seems pressure from above is sometimes necessary

I'd suggest you contact BMW customer relations because your dealer treatment does not appear to be consistent with what others have reported. iDrive failures are stored in memory anyway, so the dealer should be able to detect them even after they have cleared.

I can confirm that 27.2 (27.02 to some) does *not* fix the problem. The car is at the dealer again.

I wonder if I'll ever get to enjoy my car for more than a few weeks. This is very annoying.

If I had $500 and the software, I could go to Fry's, buy a mini-ITX PC, and replace iDrive with something that actually *works*.

My dealer is replacing the CCC, claiming that this is a real fix. Those of you who have had this problem, is replacing this module an effective solution?
