He's no daisy! He's no daisy at all. Poor soul, he was just too high strung.
It would appear that the strain was more than he could bear.

Non-Newyorkers!

I don't care where he lives and what he has, you can't justify keeping a 50K car with probably 15k+ worth of mods on it just out in the open.
$50K in Staten Island and in the driveway... thats luxury!!!!! Try on the street in Brooklyn... or worse yet... I've seen M5s parked in Chinatown on the street... now thats insane... I think I have a picture of it too... those who've been to NY Chinatown know what I'm talking about.

question:

I've never made any claim before with insurance company, so i am very ignorant when it comes to case like this.

but, when car is retrieved from thief, does insurance company+police returns the car to owner?
or does insurance company auctions out the car & write owner a check?

it would suck if insurance company calls and says,
"Sir, we have good news.....we found your car in one piece....and.....except few cigarette burns on leather seats .....oh...by the way....we assume thieves are heavy smokers by smell inside of the car when we first retrieved....and they must love McDonalds cuz there are ketchup stains everywhere...and there were few chicken nuggets on the floor as well.....but it is no biggie.....so please contact us again next time your car gets stolen...we'll go out there and look for it again......thanks" and click*

Depends when it's retrieved. Once the claim is settled, it belongs to the insurance co. Until that point, it doesn't.

first off its 60g`s lets get that right.. . heres an idiot people... (im back doc) ... and y can`t i leave it in my drive way.. i live in a beautiful area.. far better then where i was rased.. east new york to statenisland... the guy next to me has a gt2 in his drive way. and across the street from me a s63 IN THE DRIVE WAY... some people are shmucks

And they took your car and left those behind? I'm not sure I quite understood your post; what with the overuse of smileys your tendency to catch epilepsy mid-sentence.

I live in a good neighborhood too, but if you have a garage, there's no reason to leave it out like that. If someone doesn't take a bat to it or rob it, a bird will take a shit on it and it would be a lovely start to your day. The garage isn't just to keep the burglars out. But shit, why am I arguing? I merely made a suggestion. It's not my car that's stolen.

Maybe "they knew" that those didn't have $15k in mods.

It all depends on the condition the car is in once it is located in a timely manner.
