Hey Guys,

I just took delivery of my new 530i LCI sports pack last w.e. (unfortunately we didn't get the upgrade to 535i down under).

It's been barely 1 week and took it back to service center twice already.

1st fault is navigation system not working. The dealer fixed that in a day.

Later on I discovered that the new LCI gearbox have trouble shifting from Park to D from cold start. It's acting as though my foot is not on the brakes. I have to shift to reverse and play around with moving up and down before I can engage Drive on the autobox. It's been with the dealer for 2 days now, and they still have no idea of the fault, and today they just told me they have esculated the problem to BMW Australia.

My car is an April build and the automatic transmission does not have the sports button. This option don't come to Aus till the end of year

Just wondering if any other on the board here share the same problem?

Hava good 1.

I share your problem on there being no Sports Auto in Australia until September build cars. My dealer told me today that if I wanteed this option, it would be a November build (because its an individual and they only do these every 2 months) and a January delivery. So I said no.

Can't comment on the shifting issue, but my 530 arrives in the country on September 12 with delivery to me around September 26. If it has the same problem yours does, hopefully it will have ben sorted out well before I get mine...

Hope they get this sorted real quick for you.

Good luck on your new car! I think it's only the early batch of the new LCI transmission that's having the problem. The dealer lend me a 525i LCI demo and it didn't happen on that car.

Well, you're not the only one having to visit the deal more than necessary.... In my case it was a true hardware failure, but yours seems to be a software one. Keep us posted how it was fixed!

thanks for the welcome,

I called the dealer today and it looks like they'll have to fly in a new electronic shifter from Germany. Unfortunately, that won't be for another 10-12 days so my car is in repair longer than with me...
