My Ride: Orient Blue Metallic & Gray Leather 2005 545i with Sport Package, Logic 7 & Nav
I just picked up a 2005 545i with sport package. 
1) I bought this from a used car dealer and they do not have a service department.
2) Should I take it in and have it checked out at a dealer? everything checks out ok on idrive.
3) This car is fun to drive!!!!

Did you buy it with a warranty? If so, you can go to the BMW-dealer and get a warranty-check! (that's what I did when I bought mine)

to the fourm and congrats on your new car. It wouldn't hurt to take it by a BMW dealership, they canpull the VIN and check the service history at least, hopefully the previus owner took it to a dealership for service. I am going to assume since you did not buy the car from a dealership it is not CPO'd. You may want to spend the extra bucks and have the dealership due that also and also check out what warranty options you might have. Good luck and enjoy the forums,

congrats on the great car, get it checked as soon as possible.
There is an open campaign for 05' 545s, you can get a free software update if it is within warranty
after which you will get the newer idrive and your shifts will be smoother.
And take a picture of your bank balance because it will not be the same
