I have 16.1 already installed. No major chances noticed on my car. No mp3 yet.

Cheers

I dunno cuz i WANT mp3 capability... but I NEED a software fix ASAP and 16.1 is the fix. I'm just going to get 16.1 first when it comes out and figure out somthing and get 17 or somthing later.

Someones going to ask why... so I might as well say so now.

Service Measure

Engine Electrical
B12 201 05
03/14/2005

This Service Measure supersedes SM B12 208 04 dated 02/01/2005.

Subject

N62 Engine (ME9.2.1 and ME9.2.2) Automatic or SMG Transmission Equipped Vehicles, Loss Of Power While Decelerating and Turning or Coming To A Stop.

Models

E60 (5 Series), E63 and E64 (6 Series), E65 and E66 (7 Series) produced between 09/03 to 12/04 and equipped with automatic or SMG transmission.

Complaint

Automatic 6HP26 Transmision Equipped Vehicles:

The customer complains the vehicle exhibits a loss of power while decelerating and turning or coming to a stop, momentarily affecting steering effort.

SMG GS6-53BZ Transmission Equipped Vehicles:

The customer complains while driving that the transmission switches from the D3 to M2 mode, momentarily affecting steering effort, while decelerating and turning or coming to stop.

Cause

DME software calibration.

Measure

Automatic 6HP26 Transmision Equipped Vehicles:

On a customer complaint basis only, reprogram the vehicle using CIP 15.0 or higher.

SMG GS6-53BZ Transmission Equipped Vehicles:

When available, reprogram the vehicle with CIP 16.1 or higher.

Not only does it do that but it BANGs into gear and creates a HUGE shock on the drive train which is BAD....!!!!

They really are clueless. At 5pm today I took a detour via the dealership because there was a bad accident on the 101. Asked a service advisor the same question and he responded 16.3, so when I said you mean 16.2, he said yah whatever.
Geo and Tom are the shop foremen. They are the only ones that can truly answer that question or your mechanic who actually performs the CIP upgrade, which in my case is JP.
