I've got an '07 pre-LCI UK 520d. Its only got the single slot MASK system, no nav, etc, and only a speaker in each front door and on the rear shelf. Will this system be amplified, or is it just directly connected to the radio?

I had a good nosey around under the dash when i fitted the interface for my handsfree kit, and in the doors when changing some trim and couldn't see any signs of amplifiers.

Just asking, as i'm wanting to price up a digital signal processor fed system to integrate uprated sound with the OEM setup.

AFAIK the amp (if any) will be located in the left side of the trunk.

Thanks alot for clarifying that, it makes the whole process of upgrading the system that much more straight forward.

I see it as if there's no amp in the system, i can integrate a totally upgraded audio system into the cars OEM stereo system, by just interfacing a DSP and Amp into the stereo system and upgrading each of the stock speakers for a start. I just see it as a blank canvas if theres no amp present, abit long winded, but it gives you more options in the long run.
