I'm no mechanic but that doesn't really sound like transmission to me...more suspension or body creaking. Never heard of a transmission creaking. If changing from P to R causes a noise I would expect more of a slam or knock if the transmission was acting up?

Well, if it is the sound is like a Somalian pirate ship would make, you might have an RPG lock problem. Be careful though if you try to fix this one yourself.
