it could be a bad voltage regulator which is only 125.00. This needs to be properly diagnosed. Might be the battery, generator, or voltage regulator. Or even a loose ground or corroded battery connections... anything that causes an under voltage situation.

That one is in the range of the refurbished ones I've seen. If it isn't refurbished, and is the same part, that's an excellent price. I ended up getting one for $485 + install of $190. I found them at alternatorpros.com for $419 shipped next day, but the mechanic couldn't warranty it or the labor if anything went wrong, so I felt the extra $65 was worth it. If something went wrong with one from an outside source, even though it would be under warranty, I'd have to pay them to remove it, then deal with the warranty through another company, then get the new part and repay for an install.
