Great cars in the OP's history.

Mine:

1981 Chevy Caprice V6 (dark blue) (total POS -- 0 to 60 in 18 seconds and broke down weekly)

1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 (candy apple red) (my all time-favorite car)

1996 Infiniti Q45t (racing green) (too big, although it handled well and it broke down constantly)

1999 Saab 9-5 SEV6 (dark blue) (great interior packaging and stereo but a horrible suspension with no ride compliance and tremendous body lean)

2003 BMW 540i Sport (Titanium Silver) (5 Series perfection IMHO)

2006 Infiniti M45 Sport (Liquid Platinum -- Infiniti's Titanium Silver) (a legitimate alternative to the E60, great electronics, great nav, great stereo, tons of room, totally reliable and great on the twisties but the crudest suspension out there -- you feel every bump and cease in the road)

2009 BMW 550i Sport (Carbon Black) (the twisties king by far but I'd like even more power -- the best all around car I've ever owned)

Interesting histories here. Mine is:
1968 Dodge Monaco - green tank
1975 Chrysler Cordoba - but no corrinthean leather
1985 Dodge Daytona Turbo - great handling
1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z - great performance for the era
1990 Ford TBird SuperCoupe - unreliable
1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 - best handling car ever
1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 - still nice but lost the magic
1999 BMW 540i - great car!
1998 Dodge Neon RT - winter beater
2002 BMW M5 - best car I've owned
2006 BMW X3 - replaced Neon
2006 BMW 650i - disapointing after M5, harsh ride, not enough luxury
2008 BMW 550i - second best car I've owned
2009 BMW Z4 35i DCT- the fun car
Some interesting stats of the 14 cars:
6 autos, 7 manuals, & 1 DCT
7 2 dr coupes, 5 4 drs, 1 SUV, & 1 roadster
7 black, 3 silver/gray, 1 titanium, 1 white, 1 green, & 1 blue
6 N/A V8, 2 TT V6, 1 TT I6, 1 SC V6, 1 I6, 2 Turbo I4, & 1 I4

Wow, quite an assortment of cars listed here. I will try to list mine but I'm sure I will forget somebody.

1967 Pontiac Firebird, straight OHC 6 with 3 on the tree.
1970 AMC AMX, my one shot at American muscle car.
1972 BMW 2002, yep my first import and the car I probably miss as much as any car I've owned.
1969 Austin Healey 3000 Mk1, the fun car to give the 2002 some rest.
1951 Desoto Coupe, very cool old car.
1976 Lancia Beta Coupe, total POS.
and then I got married....
a Toyota wagon of some sort.
and then I got divorced
Jensen Healey, traded a guitar for it. Seemed like a good car but the motor blew the second day I had it so I sold it.
1980? Mazda RX7, cool car
first year Chevy Cavalier, need I say more?
1986 Acura Legend, first year in the states, nice car, under powered but a nice cruiser.
some kind of mini-van
Isuzu Rodeo, the boat hauler, actually not a bad SUV.
1998 BMW M3, aahhh, the love of my life. I will always miss that car.
2007 BMW 530i, only had it 3 weeks so I'm still learning the car.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Next car? Another BMW of some sort unless the styling just gets too crazy.

Cars NOT purchased with my money:
1991 Mazda MPV - I wanted a minivan for some reason when I was 17 LOL
1993 Honda del sol Si - When I was 17, I thought adding an AEM cold air intake gives 15 hp and exhaust is another 30. Stupid...
2000 Lexus RX300 - had it when I was 17 and brought it with me to college. Modded the hell out of it.
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 - one of my favorite cars. Had it when I was in college along with the RX300.

Cars started to be purchased with my own money:
2003 CLK 55 AMG - loved the design of the CLK and loved the power. Had the RX300 and Evo at the same time until I had to relocate and sold the evo and RX300
1991 Mitsubishi Galant - bought it for $700 and put it aside. Ended up donating it. Didnt know why I bought it.
2006 Scion xA - my gf loved the xA so I bought it and still have it.
2005 BMW 545i - my favorite car all time. The nicest modding car I've ever owned. Looks luxurious, classy, yet sporty. Parts aren't cheap tho

Currently, I have the 545i and Scion xA. Planning on getting the 740iL as a beater. Or maybe buy an E55 AMG for fun. Not sure yet. Maybe I'll just wait and save some money.

lemme see...
in the old country, rides I inherited from my Dad:
1976 MB 300D (sooooooo sloooooooow, but that car could go for a month without a refuel; my Dad bought it in a terrible shape and restored it to showroom condition - still regret having sold it)
1984 MB 280E (was adapted to run on both - petrol and NG, it was a 4 speed and the fastest car I've driven before I was eligible for a license )
Audi 100 Diesel - ehh, just ok.
2 Soviet Union era limos, called Tchaika. Selling these was a travesty, but the family needed the money, so I had to. Probably worth some serious cash today.

My cars since I moved to the U.S.
1991 Chevy Beretta GT - Beast of a 3.1L engine in that car.
1993 Honday del Sol Si - I LOVED this car. Was one of the best handling cars I've ever driven.
2000 Toyota Celca GT-S - nicely sounding engine at 8-9K rpm it was kind of a sleeper, but my ex crashed it too much
2001 Lexus RX300 - had to get something safer than the GT-S
1993 Toyota Camry - a post-divorce beater
1998 Infinity I 30 (don't ask)
2000 Audi A6 2.7T
2001 Lexus RX300 (don't ask. again...)
2001 Audi A6 2.7T
2006 BMW 530Xi
