Sorry to hear that, I had a previous car done. It really p!sses me off that some low life piece of crap does this, I'd love to catch them doing it.
Regarding the camera idea, i recon a ton of us on this forum would be interested in buying one if you develop something.

Sorry to hear this has happened to you, Some a-hole did the same to my wifes car while it was parked on her friends drive... Would so love to catch someone keying a car

i hope the guy gets caught. Basically, the front bumper, passenger front door, passenger rear door, rear bumper has to be painted and the fender has to be blended in. Gotta call insurance company.

Attributing it to "jealousy" may be giving the perp too much credit. I think plain old vandalism accounts for a lot of the keying.
I have night motion sensing cameras - good quality - but it does not help because although you can see the man ride up on his bike and do the deed - you can't see his face. There is an infintesmal chance of catching him from security cameras running at night.
