I haven't spent a lot of carping here about the issues I have had with this car but suffice it to say this isn't the first time it's been back to the shop. When it was running fine it was brilliant, but I don't even have 6000km (3500 miles) on it !!
Thanks for the concern and support .

Cheers
Give em hell Westcoast.....07 550i & 07 650i they better damn well make things right....and fast!

I have to say that they dealt with my self induced problems more than fairly. Here's to hoping they look after you fairly as well.

Sounds like Jessel's will look after you, as they should given your number of BMWs and the repeat nature of your purchases. Must be something seriously amiss with the 550 for them to be talking new car....it will be interesting to see what the problem really is....good luck.

A new car? Wow, what went wrong? We were all awaiting word from the wiggle test...

Seriously, do you mean they have diagnosed some problem and are swapping out the old one because of this issue. I would be curious to hear what the problem was that prompted them to act so quickly in taking back your car.
They were clearly not happy about the SA mentioning the "wiggle test" , it's not a proper test or term used in the BMW vernacular !! Someone got a tune up today

Pleased to hear the dealer appears to be doing the right thing

I'm with the others though -- what happened to ride to trigger a complete new car replacement??
- a serious technical issue
- a serious case of maintaining key customer satisfaction/loyalty

keep us informed and hope this gets sorted asap...

I spoke with the dealer again today, we reviewed the situation and it is in the hands of someone at BMW Canada who will be away for 2 weeks , I'm sure nothing will happen until the New Year. In the meantime I need to drop by there today to pick up a few things from the car ( sun glasses etc ). I have been told whats available in stock and on the water and it appears that I could get back into something pretty quickly, also with the loan rates adjusted I need to sign some paperwork to ensure the current rate in case they are increased in the New Year......................just waiting now
