My buddies benz has fold in mirrors, why doesn't BMW?

So my friends mercedes will fold in the mirrors when he turns off the car, why doesnt BMW have this technology?

BMW rather spend the dollars on making the car ride and handle as it should. Leave the fluff to the Benzos (now with that said, I want folding mirrors too )

Some details about your car might help. They fold on my car. But it is a recent introduction here in the US. It's been available over in Europe for some time now on BMW's. Not sure why BMW chose to not activate the feature in the US...

Edit: My mirrors have the power fold function, still requires a button press but does not happen when the car shuts off.

same here in Egypt is not activiated but when u go to ur bmw dealer he can reprogram ur car for free i think like mine

My "old" 335xi had them....it's just the non-M E60's here in the states that don't have the option. Go figure that the 3 has it, but the 5 doesn't...kind of like the Compass on the rearview mirror.

Correct. My new 550i has them. They even automatically fold open at about 10mph if you have forgotten to do so...pretty cool
