My brakes are squeaking pretty bad on my '05 as well. There's a servce bulletin to replace the brake sensor.

Did you guys get your brake sensors replaced to the new designs? My dealer refused to change it, but I'm gonna make sure they do, when its time to replace my brake pads.

Not sure if this is a problem in the US, here in the UK as far back as i can remember, certain cars have had squeal issues, particularly during the dry summer months, i may be wrong but it's generally attributed to a build up of dust (brake & road) behind the pads, the movement of the pad under breaking, Copaslip smeared on the back of the pads has always resolved the problem, you'll probably find a high percentage of squeal is front end although with the US having longer dry spells it could effect all four corners i guess.

If I remember correctly, there is a problem with the sensor geometry on quite a few cars.
BMW knows that and I think there even is a PUMA log with BMW dealers to change sensors and pads free of charge if customer come in with these complaints.

Persistency with your dealers might pay out, especially if you let them know that you know there is a known problem.

Think someone had posted a link or writeup of that PUMA system instruction on this site before. Try a search

I printed out the service bulletin and showed it to my SA and told him I want it replaced, he said they already did (I didn't believe him) and then I asked for him to get a mechanic to come out and look, so he did and the mechanic said it wasn't changed and told me he will do it for me. After that the brakes squeek once in a long while, usually after too much brake dust gets accumulated.
