I went this afternoon to drive my E60 and it had a dead battery my car is 3 weeks old I had to reset my active steering, radio, seats etc. I had to jump it off. I havent figured out why it died yet, if its dead in the morning I am going to BMW assist myself to the shop

Do you have a Bluetooth phone? There was an earlier theory (that may have been disproven, I can't remember) about leaving a BT phone paired overnight draining the battery.

It's just a quick guess -- someone else with a better memory will chime in with more information, I bet.

No I dont have a bluetooth phone I have bluetooth turned off in IDrive.
I put new foglight bulbs in last night but I dont think that would do it? I didnt leave them on all night.

BMW Portugal sent me a recall letter yesterday to check the battery system.
Maybe you should check that with your dealer.

I had a recurring battery problem in my 3 month old 525i. After much diagnosis, it turned out that the main ASK controller (computer) was spontaneously waking up in during the night. They replaced it and its now fine.

My battery failed at 1,500 miles.

I tried to jump start it with my wife's car running, and it fried my TCU. I don't know why, but they replaced the whole SMG transmission as the result.
