So I was just looking at my tires-the dunflops on my 530-and at 9k miles the back tires are about 3 times more worn than the fronts which still have lots of tread.

I was going to go to a tire place and get them to throw the fronts onto the back and switch em around to get a few thousand more miles from these things.

Only question I had was is this an OK idea-I forget what the rule is about having more wear on the rear tires v. the front and where you want your worn tires on a car for handling purposes.

Also can any old tire place (discount tire for example) do this on a bimmer and how does that affect the tire pressure gauge>? Do they know how to keep that in tact or what>?

What year is it, dunlops had a problem at one point, you should take it to the dealer. they will replace them, if the tire is under the warranty,

also you would want to keep them rotated, because they are not staggered rims. 35psi is most optimum for most people.

Hmm I guess it is worth a try-considering my front 2 are completely fine-maybe some alignment issue? not sure-I mean a RWD car and a few burn outs later is probably my fault but worth a shot!

It is an 07 and has the dunflops

I am in a somewhat similar situation though less extreme. The rears of my car are about 50% more worn than fronts. Unfortunately my dealer had a nerve to blame it on my right foot and refused to replace them (Dunlops). Please let me know how it works out for you.

Strange. I have a 2004 530i with the original Bridgestone runflats on it, at least the original ones when I bought the car with 7900 miles on it....Car has 43K on it now.

Ya.. I've noticed that the rears wear A LOT more and much faster than the fronts... on all E60s... any tires... not just the thumpflats...
