Let me make sure I understand you.. In order to do this, they must have been not only watching the car for a while, but at some point copied down the VIN #. Then somehow ordered (or re programmed) a key FOB to work with his 5?

So in other words, no flat bed.. no dollies. Just walk up, hop in and drive.

Its apparently actually easier than that. Apparently if you have CAS (or not), all you need is a scanner which read the codes while you are un/locking your car. Then you send that same code out via the scanner (cloned fob) and then bob's your uncle.

The car knows no different and its gone forever.

I bought the car from bmw and apart from bmw i have never handed my key over to anyone else.

the police still havent seen the cctv yet so still left thinking with all sorts of ways my car was stolen.

sorry to hear bro... this is some "gone is 60 sec" shit btw I think the alarm speaker are somewhere in the rear bumper area... couldn't that be easier cut off?

Spoke to the police and they still havent seen the cctv footage as of yet....its been about 8 days since my cars been stolen

They have better things to do like catching the real criminals that go a few mph over the limit not those pesky car thieves that don't have the money to pay the fines.

I had my mx bike stole quite a years ago and police didnt even show up. Even when one guy found it from the woods.. Hope your bmw will found in one peace..

Hopefully you find it, but we pay insurance for a reason. I wouldn't trip to bad honestly.
