My Ride: 2006 550i Titanium Silver Metallic, Black Dakota Leather, Anthracite Maple Wood Trim, Cold Weather Package, Premium Sound Package, Sport Package, Steptronic, Navigation, Electric Rear Sunshades, Heated Rear Seats, Sirius Radio
What a great color combination you have selected. I think that with this exterior color detailing supplies are in order. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT let the dealership do an exterior detail with that color. Tell them not even to wash it; just clean the interior. Then you can go to autopia.org and learn what you need to know so you can safely wash, clay, polish, and then apply a wax or sealant. Or do as I did and apply 5 coats of Klasse sealant followed by numerous coats of a pure carnuba wax.
There is no cure! The obsession has just begun!
Sick as it may seem I really enjoy caring for my car. My Jet Black M3 looked better than showroom new when I sold it back to the dealership after 3 years of ownership. My Ti/Ag 550 is a breeze to care for in comparison, but I do enjoy the process. Nothing better than waxing and relaxing, except driving of course.

You're supposed to be worrying that it doesn't get scratched during transport.
Great flooring system idea. Let us know how it looks when they give you an estimate.
By the way, we were just as nuts as you at this point too ... you will survive, barely.

Or worse. The vessel carrying my wife's 2004 Volvo XC90 sank in the English Channel.

I think I just read somewhere on line that the Orion Diamond had to make port somewhere on the east coast due to mechanical trouble. They were going to offload their cargo of cars at the SC VPC, and let the Duke Lacrosse team drive them west to the Oxnard VPC......so relax Bing, it won't be long now

It seems like our 550i's are stuck at Bremerhaven together. Mine has been at the port since Saturday. I wonder how close the VIN #'s are?Mine last 5 digits are 05233.
