yeah i did but i have 1000 deductible and the repair cost around $400 so I have to pay from my own pocket plus cancel the claim or my insurance will go up.

In SA spec. BMW's, if the car is locked using the remote and then unlocked using the key, as soon as you open the door the alarm goes off.

This has to be a setting that can be enabled by your dealer. After this incident I would not ask but tell your dealers to enable this feature. Dont accept no for an answer. I have just gone outside to my car and tested it to confirm.

Hi There.

Just curious as to where your bought in Dublin and how long the led time was beore your car was available for pickup. I've just ordered a 520I last week and was told 1st wk in feb ... do you thinkn this is achievable ?

This is a option in the Car/Key memory that is set by your dealer.

The option is whether the alarm can be disabled by just the key in the frnt lock

For some reason USA cars allow this, this if the front lock can be turned somehow the alarm is deactivated.

Here in SA the default is that the alarm can only be deactivated by the remote, thus making the alarm go when not unocked by the remot

Your dealer CAN set this

They DO know how

it takes 5 Min

theres no body work involve, the dealer order the handle and key cylinder for me.
shipping takes about a week so i hope by end of next week my baby will be new again!
