Hello you all!!

Well - what can I say? I am absolutely blown away by the simply awesome power and handling of my oil burning big armchair!

Jonathan Palmer and the track guys were amazed at the of her out of the bends and on the straight! I had a queue of my colleagues waiting to come for a drive.

The higlight for me was overtaking the Ferrari 308, Boxster and SL500!! (Though to be fair the 308s braked were probably not as good as mine!).

I have an mpeg of chasing the Ferrari - anyone know where I can host it?? (you can see the mount on the passenger window in the last shot)

SOMEBODY HELP ME COME OFF THE HIGH!!!

Cool! You've left you number plate exposed on one of the shots...

What's the deal with BH then? Are these 'turn up and drive days'?

Nice pics Alan - as usual. Mine has only got 600 miles on it so far, maybe next year I can give it a chance to breath. I heard the war stories at work last night! What speed did you get up to on the pit straight? I know that some could keep up with you but not pass you - mind you the 911 wasn't trying - apparently!!!

Colejl - I think we could say that Mr Palmer is our favourite customer

Excellent.

Notice the helmets higher than the rollover protection on the 308 though :'(

Thanks for spotting the ONLY car not disguised was mine... DOH!!

As for using the ractrack....

Well, Jonathon Palmer is a friend of us at work. Therefore we negotiated a few hours after a track day from 1700-2000 hrs. There was no requirement to do anything to your car. You do have to be careful though, as most cars are not used to being red lined for 10 minutes with you standing on the brakes every 15 secs - so 5-8 laps at a time were enough. The Yellow Lancia Delta HF Integrale and the Black Honda S2000 both had oil pressure problems. However my friends SL500 and P1 Imprezza stood the test of time... as did the Porker 911S.

Track days can be booked quite easily from Motor Sport Vision

The only problem with doing normal track days with random people is that you don't know if there are any nutters there going for the lap record. We all work together and all trust each other not to run each other off the road.

Could be worth getting an e60 group going.....!

Excellent!

On the track days I have been too most people are very well behaved, and if not they normal put their car in to the kitty litter, so long as not in their way at the time your fine.

You soon work out if the guy behind is faster than you, and you just let him pass, you not racing!!

shiny thanks for that - I have edited the 500mb 4x lap MPEG and given you two smaller videos. Let us know when you have the address for th hosting! One video is leaving the pit lane for a warm up lap and the other is behind the 308 who was braking far too early and nearly caught me out....! (til I passed him
