And to those who havnt checked my profile, i have a 530d 2006 Feb model, it has 31,000 miles on it, and i got it for a good price, i have sat nav and healogen lights, everything else is standard bmw.

Its the first BMW i have owned, my brother has a 535d, who is also going to be joining the forum soon.

i believe yours is a 231bhp like mine, althrough 2006 there were updated from the 218bhp.

30K miles for 18 month car is fine.

I've heard that a thumb rule to know if it's a 218 or 23bhp is; if it has start/stop button it's a 231 else it's a 218. But from what I've also heard there is a very small amount of key started 231bhps too...

 

thats right ipp, the 231s had a button start.

 

if the production was in 2006 Feb, then it definitely has 231 hp - great choice then

however, if it was a august 2005 production and was only registered for the first time in feb 2006, then you will have the 218 hp version -> this is very very unlikley. And as the others have said, the stop&go button says it all
