Hello.

A few weeks ago I posted about doing paint repair on my 5. Alas the original plan of using the touch up paint followed by the BMW polisher did not work. Either I could see the scuff or scratch I was trying to obscure or I could see where the touch paint was applied. I decided that I needed to do more research so I did the 3 step wax process so the car is ready for winter. For now I am satisfied that the car looks good from 10 feet even though you can see touch up work upon closer inspection.

Below is the result. The car is a 2007 530i with the sport package, 6 speed, heated front seats and nothin' else. The colour is sapphire black metallic.

10 footer huh? Reminds me of my buddies system for classifying women... 3 numbers... from farthest to closest. For example a 10, 8, 6 would be a ten from afar, and gradually getting less attractive the closer she gets. Sorry if this offends but I am just sharing what I thought was funny about the description!

The car looks good.

I just did the same thing to my Black 545i... I used Griots Polish #3 after using a clay bar over the entire car. I followed it up with some wax and voila... here are a couple pics from my Blackberry

Just because you are aware does not mean everyone will be aware. Looks good!

That is another good looking black E60. I agree that the clay definitely makes a difference. It allows the paint cleaner to do what its suppose to. I also like the smooth paint surface after you clay.

They look good; one other little trick is to black out your wheel wells.
I am sure others also make a spray, but something like Adams Under Carriage Spray "helps hide" the wheel wheels
