Good afternoon
This is my first time posting, let me know if this is correct area. This morning both my headlights would not turn once I started my car I received an error stating my left and right low beam had a malfunction. Unless it pure coincidence I do not believe I have to change my light bulbs. Any help would be appreciate before I go to the stealership. Thanks again

Not sure what kind of headlight you have. Assuming your 528i using the standard Halogen aside from trying to swap the left <-> right bulb swap plus verify those current bulb actually working (i.e. test the H7 bulb outside maybe on another car) not much you can do.
The source of the problem maybe your LCM (computer module that control the car lighting) become bad, you can disconnect and re-connect the LCM but no other easy way to test it. Unless you have some sort of diagnostic way of reading the stored error only dealer can read it and troubleshoot it.
