I was wondering, E60 models and engines aside, what options in your experience have been worth paying for, and what you may pass up next time

Top 5 MUST HAVE Options
1. Professional Sat-Nav <-- Tasty
2. Bluetooth Media Package <-- yes although I hate the fact I can't read sms on it.
3. Panoramic Sun-Roof <-- cool
4. Adaptive Xenons<-- A MUST
5. Comfort Seats <-- yes
Top 5 WHY BOTHER Options
1. Voice Command <-- I never use this
2. 6 CD-Changer <-- good if you don't have ipod connection or USB
3. Performance Steering Wheel <-- A tad too small but I rate it as a so-so. previous Mstreering wheel much better
4. Infra-Red Imaging <-- do you drive 90% of the time at night on unlit roads? If yes, then why not.
5. Lane Assist <-- another waste of time. I never use it and when I do try its annoying..!
Adaptive auto cruise is great
Rear and side blinds. always a nice thing to have.
electric tailgate will be a gizmo to play with all the time.
Rain sensor I will put in the skip.
cheers

I'm not sure if I would go to an "i" model instead of the "xi", but my options would be more beneficial if I did.
I would drop the Cold Weather package, add the Sport, and while I'm not too sure on what Active Steering really does, it seems everyone has it and loves it. I'd get that too. We got sat radio thrown in for free due to a mistake, but I wouldn't get that next time around. May have persuaded dad to let me get the M Aero kit from BMW, but his smacks hurt, so I think I'll try and get that myself.

And your bidet? I don't use my sunroof, since I can almost never drive without my window all the way down, even in the Chicago winters. I love that armrest space.
