Curious -- what's the general stance on mud flaps? I just got new wheels put on and my rears are 10" wide so they stick out a lot further than they used to with my stock wheels. I have a feeling I'm going to get a lot more dirt, mud, and *rocks* kicked up onto the rear side of my car. Those of you with wider rear wheels -- have you put on mud flaps? If not -- have you had issues with your rear wheels kicking up a lot of stuff onto your car and making it dirty or even causing minor scrapes/knicks that could otherwise be avoided?

I went with wider wheels and a drop so the kick-up is nothing really. I saw an all-black e60 with flaps and it didn't look bad - not good looking but it wasn't bad either. Maybe a test fit at your dealer to see how it looks to you?

isn't anything I would consider for me. Kinda like front end bras. If the "fix" to prevent minor scratches and dirt is even uglier then what's the point?

Try cutting out the shape of a flap in cardboard, paint it black and tape to the wheel well and see what you think!

Ok cool thanks for the feedback guys. I hadn't even thought about it until a few people at work said it separately. I couldn't recall really seeing anyone with flaps, so I was wondering if it caused a problem or not. Seems not.. hopefully.
