If all three cars were driven the same distance at a steady and constant speed of 70mph. Would there be a difference in fuel consumption? My assumption is No because they are the same size engine and you are probably using less that 177 bhp so why would they use more fuel than the other. The only variance I can imagine is the weight of the car but I think this would have a very small affect on the fuel consumption.

This is assuming all cars are LCI, auto and same spec/driver.

Thought and suggestions? TIA

I wouldnt think there would much between them TBH, the 535 may use slightly more fuel as its heavier but it would be minimal.

Alot would depend on the final drive ratio, ie how fast the engine is turning at 70mph. My 520d Auto feels as if it should have longer legs, a longer ratio rear axle would help the economy, but hurt the 0-62mph acceleration.

I would prefer better fuel economy, at ?1.25 a litre........
