OK - Last time.... honest.

Just got my trusty steed back from the dealer with 20.02. I have pro nav and the 6 CD changer (Media package in the UK)

I used Nero 7 as per Lomaq's great guide http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=24018

I tried to burn the CDRs using albums in folders and individual titles. Tried in the single slot CD and the multi changer.

STILL DOESN'T WORK!!!!!

Any ideas why it is not working......?? I am spending hours and loads of CDs trying...... and all I want is the ability to play MP3s...... I am going out of my mind!!

forget the CD changer it will not work in that unit. The single CD slot is the place...still cant understand how it isnt working however.

I use Maxell CDR's and a number of different burners inc Nero and all is fine..I dont have any Nav, but specified the Pro radio to be able to play MP3's.
It shouldnt matter how you catalogue your music on your disc, so long as the format of the data is correct, that being the selection of "Create an MP3 disk" when you start the project.

Good luck, hope you fettle it...

It's worth noting that a CIP upgrade will NOT automatically enable MP3 playback on the CCC. This has to be enabled as a specific action & can be done WHILST the CIP is being upgraded.

You have to tell the service manager that you want the MP3 option enabled or else they will not do it with the CIP update.

I guess it is too late once the update has been done?

You can go back to the dealership to have them do the MP3 programming. It can be done independently of a CIP upgrade and only takes about 30 minutes for them to do it. Good Luck!

Had my 2004/02 updated yesterday for MP3 , and to quote Undisputred Truth 'after 2 years , 3 months , 1 week and 2 days' I now have MP3 playing in the single slot CD. After you get the work done and feed in a CD , it takes about 10-15 seconds for the car to recognise the CD (I thought is was not working) and then there is MP3 in all its glory

Steve545 - where did you take your car? Did it take long?

Did you ask for MP3? Did they bill you?

Cheers

Alan

The garage was Sytners at Sunningdale - formally William Jacks

I went in for a service - I have the 5 year service package - and moaned at them again about the inability to play MP3. I mentioned I was having problem about tickover the revs surging so they sorted that out and the MP3 update as well. Apparently they only had the instructions from last monday.

Steve

p.s. no charge, but if they get stroppy just you have a problem with anything - engine surging for instance LOL
