I agree with the sentiment. I especially purchased the professional radio as the UK price brouchure quoted this option as delivering MP3 capability. After burning about 10CDs I found out it clearly doesn't work.

I also have been thinking hard about the Sales of Goods Act in the UK given the price list and owners manual describe it in detail and its not working.

Hi Lars,

I am waiting for the pay out from the reseller, Bilcentralen, where I bought the car. As it works the reseller is responsible to pay me the reimbursement. I have also been in contact with BMW, but the say this is between me and the reseller, they do not seem to care very much. But I am sure that the reseller will claim compensation from BMW for this...

If you are interrested I can give you the details and the case number with ARN, that you can use to make you claims towards you reseller. I guess that as this case already has a decission by ARN, that everyone can use it to make their claims in Sweden.

What?s you e-mail Lars?

What are you suggesting -- that some of the software in the e60 is made by Microsoft? I happen to be a MSFT fan.... what software in the e60 is made by them?

Idirve is based on Windows CE Automotive. The programm running on this platform seems to be written in Java.

Any lawyers out there?? I know it seems minor, but a class action lawsuit would be great.? I think they need to give us all $250 - $500.? It's total BS and false advertising.

BMW can keep their $250 if they'd only install the aux input. A hard drive based MP3 player will beat MP3 CDs all day long. I"m going in for my third attempt at getting the install done next Monday. It is pathetic that there is so little information available to technicians regarding this. Isn't this suppose to be the information age?
