My Ride: 2006 Mystic Blue 530i, beige/poplar wood interior, steptronic transmission, prem, sport, & sound pkgs, comfort seats, pdc, all weather mats, red reflectors, NAV, ACC, HUD, satellite radio, heated rear seats, rear sunshade, cold weather pkg, active steering
Dealer1 updated my vehicle to CIP 20.02. Unfortunately, attempts to explain that I needed to have MP3 playback enabled were futile.
Phoned dealer2 where I purchased my vehicle. Unfortunately, attempts to explain that I needed to have MP3 playback enabled were futile.
I went to dealer2 with the pdf downloaded from this site and had the dealer read it. Eureka! One of the techs had actually done the procedure. I have an appointment for next week to have MP3 enabled and it is free.
Phoned dealer2 where I purchased my vehicle. Unfortunately, attempts to explain that I needed to have MP3 playback enabled were futile.

My car is Nov 06 built, and it can play mp3 CD in sub folders, although haven't try DVD format. One annoying thing is the song name listed in all caps with underscores; doesn't look pretty

SA called and said that the software was updated and the mp3 retrofit was completed on my 03/04, going to pick up and check it out in the morning. Wish me luck

All of you that have Bussines Radio with Nav, or Professional with or without Nav, can go to your dealer to repro the software and can read MP3.
