My Ride: 2004 525d E61, Silver Grey, 17 Inch 116's on Non-Run Flats, Black/Amethyst Leather, Dark Poplar Wood Trim, Bi-Xenon Adaptive Headlights, Bluetooth Phone Prep.
I've now read as much as I can regarding MP3 playback and compatability with various combinations of NAV and Radio.
What I was wondering is; does anyone know what the techical issues are regarding MP3 playback on a non NAV standard Business Radio. I thought that if it's driven by software then surely an software upgrade could be possible as with the other systems and that the electronics aren't an issue.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
PS get my 525d Touring next week.

You need Pro Radio to play back MP3's via the single CD slot....was in your neck of the woods last week, played golf at Gleneagles on the Kings course...nice part of the world
Hi mixterk, thanks for the quick reply.
I know from this forum, which is great, that Pro Radio is the only way to get MP3 playback I just wondered if anyone knew why and what the technical difficulties are. Both systems are operated via software and the only difference I can see is that Pro has 2 tuners.
Thanks for your comments on my neck of the woods. haven't been near yours for a few years gadge.
