Not true, my 2004 (3/2004 build) car was able to play MP3 discs in either the CD or DVD slot.

The bulletin posted above (and a zillion times before) clearly states that CCC based cars (navigation) from start of production (SOP) to 9/2005 can play MP3 discs by just updating progman. Cars built after 9/2005 played MP3 discs from the factory...
Bmwdaffy and delje08 were not talking about CCC, but M-ASK. So delteje08's comments IS TRUE. Of course Rudy's arguments are true, but only valid for CCC.

I had first week of Sep. 05 manufactured M-ASK (no navigation) and it did not play MP3 even car had the latest Progman. Now I have 15th Sep 05 made M-ASK (Business navigation and professional radio) and it has MP3 capability. Updating Progman gives MP3 capability only for cars with CCC (Professional navigation). IF You do not have navigation and MP3 capability, only way to get MP3 capability is hardware upgrade/update.

I handed the bulletin to my SA, I have CCC, they were telling me it wouldnt work. I guess my SA didnt want to try. So i decided just to upgrade hardware to make it work.
