Marty are you using the navigation DVD player, the dash CD player, or the glove compartment CD changer?? Which device are you using for playback and whihc type of DVDs e.g. DVD+R, DVD-R, or DVD+RW

I'm sure hes using the DVD Drive... which is UNDER the CD slot... where the "cubby hole" is if you dont have NAV... as for + or - R I cant answer that...
I wouldnt use RW... DVDs are cheap now... RWs really stresses DVD readers...
I am using the under dash CD/DVD player. I have Business Navigation and with this you only get 1 slot which is used fo both the navigation DVD and for playing CDs.
I used DVD+R since that was what I had to hand.

Yes, DVD MP3 has worked with Business Nav for a while ( Business NAV not available in USA )
But I have heard it wont recognize a full 4.7Gigs of songs, only about 3 gigs
Your number of albums is also apparently limited

I was wondering about the limit. When you look at the track listings it only has space to count upto 999. So for aprox 3Mb per song that would equate to about 3G.
however I have broken things up into sub-directories with no directory having more than about 100 songs. So the disc is easier to navigate and I should not hit the 999 limit.
I will try to cut another DVD today with full 4.7G and report back it it works.

Thank you Marty for the information,
I have read somewhere about that 250 tracks limitation too, so I'm keen to hear if you can fit 999 tracks to DVD by splitting the tracks to folders or something.
I have been waiting for dension i-link for my ipod (and playing MP3's from CD media meanwhile), but since it seems that they'll never get that to the markets, the idea of having the same amount tracks on 4 dvd's sound the way to go.
I?m ready to try this; however I am probably missing an ingredient. I have many blank DVDs, many songs, and Navigation. But I am in the U.S. and have the Pro Navigation system and Logic 7. So will this work for me or am I SOL because of the Pro NAV?

However, as of September/October production, apparently vehicles equipped with Pro Nav now can play MP3s. Once more of these vehicles get into peoples' hands, it will hopefully become clear whether this is in fact true, and if so, whether it is the result of a software update, a hardware update, or both.
