Well, I am gobsmacked - as an experiment I cut an MP3 DVD and stuck it into my car, I really expected this not to work but NO...... 4.7Gb of MP3 Magic. Looks like I won't be needing that iPod interface kit after all

My first test was only about 2.8Gb but this seems to work jst fine. I arranged it into folders so that it is navigatable inside the idrive.

The only thing missing is playlists

Next two things to try :

a) Double sided DVD => 8.5Gb

b) DVD R/W.

'king-ell

ps - I feel for you CCC guys, hopefully BMW will get their act together and you too will have MP3.

Hi Marty!

I have yet tested mine with MP3's on CDs, and haven't tested with DVD's:
How many tracks did you fit into 2.8Gb?

I only hope they would add AAC support as well....

Not too sure how may tracks - 19 albums, probably about 250 (they are all in seprate directories). I recon that you should be able to get about 400 tracks on a DVD.

Do you suppose this only works with the CD changer?

Yes, DVD MP3 has worked with Business Nav for a while ( Business NAV not available in USA )

But I have heard it wont recognize a full 4.7Gigs of songs, only about 3 gigs

Your number of albums is also apparently limited

I can see on idrive and listen, only the first 239 mp3 Tracks alphabetically, off about 800 traks burned (128 kbps).

I have test all types of dvd disks and combinations.

Software bug or deliberate BMW limit ???
