My Ride: X3 | 3.0 | 6-speed manual
As my own little protest, I'm keeping the mp3 disk of various Bob Marley tracks that a friend burned for me in my car and I'm not taking it out 'til I can play it IN MY CAR!

[/quote]I hate to sound like a fool but what is difference between (1) Business Radio, (2) Pro-Radio & (3) Regular Radio all with and with out Nav.... I have read all the Pro, Business stuff since I joined this site but I never had the nerve to ask

There are two radios, two nav systems and three sound systems (speakers/amps).
The basic/standard radio is the radio business.
the radio pro is the better one, which has two tuners and supports RDS and other stuff, like MP3.
Nav is available as business and pro. Business has no map, just arrows and is not available in the US. Both nav systems have the radio pro allready.
The sound systems are: standard, Hi-Fi and L7.
So there are E60's with:
radio bus, no nav
radio pro, no nav
radio pro, nav bus
radio pro, nav pro
Each of the above combinations can be combined with standard sound, Hi-Fi or L7.
For MP3 playback the radio pro is REQUIRED.

Previously I think it was said if we have a MY05 and older car w/out NAV then we have Business Radio in the U.S. right?
But I have RDS...
Soooo does this mean... maybe the US is really screwed up that MY05 has Business radio that has RDS capability?
I just still want to know if I really cant get MP3 capability... but certain things just keep pointing me to a direction that makes me "think" I might still have a chance...
I have:
MY05
Logic 7
No NAV
but do have RDS.
No Idea if I have Radio Pro or Business Radio
cant play MP3s still with what I "THINK" is 16.2 (*I never got confirmation on what version I have on my car. *)

A simple solution for me for MP3 files has been an Mp3 to WAV converter, something like: converter
I can get 20-23 songs per CD which is pretty good until we can do better.

I'm a new member here and sometime towards the end of July I should be the owner of a new 2005 545i (it's on order). I've been reading all your posts on MP3's being able to play or not play in the e60's but I'm still lost. Will my 545i, which is on order as per BMW Owners Circle be able to play MP3's? I have ordered the NAV, Premium Sound/Logic 7. Or can I add an IPod via the aux input some of you have mentioned? If using the aux input will this be a hardwired input or fM modulator type? Does the dealer do the install for the IPod? Sorry if this is rehashing old stuff but I'm just looking for a clearer answer to make my first Bimmer more of a pleasure to drive!
