My Ride: 2005 E60 525D
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Well I've had my E60 525D for about half a year now. I love this car. Have it chiptuned and am pushing close to 200 HP now.
However... My wife and I are expecting twins in september, in addition to our daughter... 3 kids total and lots of stuff to haul around...
So the E60 will have to go. :'(
Putting in an order for an E61
Going over the options list, I KNOW I regret not taking the Logic 7, so that one is in certainly. Full list of options will be:
Titangrau II
Leather Dakota Truffelbraun
Style 138 Wheels
Roof rails
Carpets
Wood finish Riegelahorn anthrazit
CD changer
Sports seats front
Logic7
PDC
Airconditioning with additional functionality
M sport steering wheel
removable Trailer hitch
Radio BMW professional
Sports suspension
What do you think ?

Sounds really nice but, no Xenon lights?
Will the new car also be a 525d?

We have 3 kids 3 years, 18 months and 12 weeks and for the life of us we can not get 3 kids seats in the back. To have the front airbag switched off is ?400 or $700 in the UK.
The only way to go with so much baggage is a people wagon as I think our E61 days are numbered.

Been looking at the VW Touareg, Volvo XC90, Landrover Discovery... I think it's possible to fit 3 kids on the back seat of one of those.
Even the X5 is out of the question, as it has the same back seat as the E60 :'(

[/quote]Landrover sucks, not a good car.
You should go for VW Touareg (the V6 3TDI would be a way to go) - the biggest inside space, ummm Volvo XC90 maybe, but you know German cars will always be German cars and drive better.
X5 is a great car but is pretty old concept now, compared to Touareg it is a bit of a grandfather

(yet again guys X5 is a great car, I'm just seeing the big picture of a person getting a new car for such a lot of $$$ for longer period of time)

I wouldn't toutch the Landrover. The Volvo XC90 is the most child friendly of the cars you mention, it has 7 seats, 2 in-built child seats, lots of storage areas, armour-plated resale values and has won many awards here in UK. Trouble is it is slower than you are used to, so you may want to chip it.
I think I'd definately test drive the VW V6, but with 3 kids I'd go for a chipped Volvo XC90!

Renault Espace !
Fourth generation (very reliable), good engine, lot of space, silent, nav, hi-fi ... no sport option though
Ok that's not a BMW but you can sit your 3 kids (even 5) and save money to buy a small E60 (E90) just for fun.
