Mounted a roof rack, thoughts..?
Hello everyone,
Finally decided to buy a roof rack for my mtn bike. Ended up with a Oem BMW rack and Oem bicycle attachment. I'm not in love with it aesthetically. I do like the Yakima rack a little more but I got a steal on this. May be replacing with a Yakima eventually, I think it looks weird.
I also swore up and down Id never put a roof rack on it.. I also said Id never drop it, it's "impractical" ha!
What do you think? Powder coat it dark grey/ color match!? Haha

I think it looks good. The Yakima rack will probably look better because it's a bit more low profile and the fairing smooths out the look. But your current set up looks just fine.
A few weeks ago I put a Yakima rack with 48" crossbars and a fairing on my 2010 E60. In case anyone was wondering, I was able to adjust the mounting spot for the front crossbar one inch forward so the fairing sat nicely just in front of the moonroof. This allowed me to still tilt or slide the moonroof without any interference from the rack. Also, with the moonroof open, I noticed a bit more wind noise with the rack installed but not a huge amount.
