My Ride: 2006 E60 550i & 2008 335xi - Both Monaco Blue
Default Monaco Blue (A35)

Out of curiosity, I'd like to get an idea of how many of us have Monaco Blue E60's. I purchased a certified pre-owned E90 335xi 8 years ago, choosing between a Monaco and Montego Blue. I went for the Monaco Blue as it had iDrive but probably would have gone for the Montego if it had the same. At first, i didn't like that the color was so dark but it grew on me over time, especially once it became modified.

In January 2020, i began shopping for an E60. Mileage and condition was most important to me, then options and engine sizes. I was willing to get any color except black. Color was not really a factor to me as my main goal was getting back into a minty E60, as i had a brand new one (530i) for eight months in 2010. I almost settled on a Platinum Bronze 528i with 61K and a Silver LCI 535i with 65k. I wasn't really interested in getting a turbo'd car as i felt that I'd "done it all" with my 335xi and to me, 528i's at the time seemed poorly spec'd and mostly with beige interior, the latter of which i didn't want to deal with again.

Then a pre-lci 550i appeared, with sports package, dakota orange / natural brown interior, 48k miles, in Monaco Blue, at a great price. I had the car by the end of that week. I guess Monaco Blue was meant to be again for me haha. This is also my first V8 so that further adds to the excitement. The color has further grown on me, but even over the years, I've noticed that it does not appear to be common color, only offered on Bangle era cars of the 2000's (E60. E63 - E66, E86 - E90)

Who else has one? or more?

With all your cars do you need a full time parking attendant?

Do you have your own tow truck around back?

Any Pics?
i remember in my searches, coming across E61's was obviously infrequent, but when i did, they all seemed to be low mileage, great condition examples.

Looking great! and great mileage too. From what I've seen online, it appears that most of the Monaco Blue cars were Pre-LCI.

Mounted oem Style 172's about two weeks ago. I had Style 166m on my last E60 and was going to do the same with this one but decided to do something different. I liked the fact that style 172's were designed specifically for the E60 back when it was current. I eventually plan on doing the full M-Sport conversion.

This is the only pic I can find at the moment. My car looks completely different now.

No pics (I'm at work) I just picked up a 2010 E61 Monaco blue with beige/cream interior.with 131K on the odometer. Dropping it off at the shop this week for a bunch of repairs and upgrades.
