Having now got my car back, i'm a very happy chappie again & enjoying her fully (the DMS re-map helps that). I thought to myself, what could i do??

I don't want to modify her performance, as i'm very happy with that & i purchased this car to get away from stupid running costs, however i kinda fancy some subtle upgrades & to individualise her a little.

Are their any BMW options i've NOT got that could be retro-fitted (all options are in my sig below)? I'm not wanting BMW to tinker with my Engine ECU again so any options would need to not require any major software upgrades.

Also how about body styling (subtle). The Schnitzer kit looks very nice. How much is it, where can i enquire in the UK & is it worth the money?? I enphasise subtle, i have no intention of Max Powering my car. Love my wheels, so don't want to change those.

Are their any interior options or extras i could get/fit?? Updated my i-drive controller to an 06MY version, but is their anything else??

Found out earlier this week that their's nothing i can do with my ICE to enhance the sound a little, unless i'm prepared to spend around ?1500 which i'm not, as the current sound is fairly good so not worth ?1500 to upgrade that.

Just looking for ideas & pointers. As said above, i've no intention of going overboard so subtle & complimentary to the E60's form is what i'm looking for.

Cheers in advance.

The only things I can think of that mine has and your doesn't is the M5 filler panel on the boot. I think it looks better with it but opinion is divided...

Have you got the Chrome Grill on yours?

Cheers,

They're both good ideas. I don't think i have the chrome grille (i'm linking to a frontal picture of my car)

Does the M5 boot plate come ready painted?? It is starting to grow on me, however with it being a big area, i'd be worried about colour differences.

Doesnt look like you have the chrome grills, the boot filler comes either primed or painted, there are two part numbers (I can dig em out if you want)

Mine was pre painted so colour matching wasn't an issue...

Hi,

Well it just so happens that just round the corner from my house is a garage that specialises in BMW AC Schnitzer tuning - I believe it to be the main UK Schnitzer dealer, check it out:

http://www.rossiters.ltd.uk/

Give them a call and see what they can do - alot of very nice BMW's roll out of this place...

That would be good. Cheers.

What is the cost of the painted M5 boot filler, where from & is it childs play to fit??

Same question applies to the chrome grille, how much, where from & can a 5yr old fit it? (my automotive technical ability is that of a 5yr old, i'm a Salesperson after all)

I think you've already got just about everything you need, whilst still keeping the car looking 'stock'. Personally I would avoid any aftermarket stuff - even if it's schnitzer etc cause I prefer the stock look.

I reckon Iceman will have a few options you are missing though

What about an ipod and aux-in connection - now I've got my sound quality sorted (following advice on this forum) - this is my bestest toy.

Nice car by the way !

Although having just had a look at the ACS styling, I don't think it looks anything like as good as the standard M Sport styling, though there might be other things available... (perhaps lower it a little?) The e60 doesn't look right to me with any sort of body kit without the M sport's wider grill and lip....

Can't remember the cost, I have the receipt at home so I'll check tonight but I remember it being less that 200 quid. I got mine straight from Williams in Manchester. Is sticks on with the same double sided tape as the spoiler, just make sure you order it as it does'ny come with it (unlike the spoiler)

Part number for primed is: 51138030419
Part number for painted is: 51130395188

More info here

Grill is a bit of a pig of a job if you want to keep the old ones in one piece, I wasn't too fussed so I just ripped em out. I got my instructions for fitting from searching the forum...

Looking at the M5 boot filler fitting link you posted, it appears to be mounted via the 2 number plate screws, but you mention double sided sticky plate. Is this correct, how is it fitted & if sticky tape is used, is the fit perfectly flush to the boot??

Also, did the grille come from a BMW main dealer? Do you have the part number? if not, what should i be asking for?

Cheers,
