Yes.? He seemed quite proud to be able to tell me it had moved to status 112 and that it moved forward (according to him) by about two weeks.? I was the cause of most my waiting pain as I did delay from my first ordering opportunity in March 03 just to get the HUD. So most of the wait is on my head.? Every month my dealers' coupe allotment would come up, they would call, I would ask, "is HUD available?"? If no, then wait some more.? I was afraid they'd quit asking, assuming I was just a curious onlooker.? Once HUD became available, boom, I ordered.? Nevertheless, once you order you sure expect people to move out smartly.

i forgot the you were ordering an E63, hey, have you asked at all about the possibility of the engine changes in the fall? there will be a new 4.8 and 4.0 this year that may go into the E63 as early as the fall. If i do not have success with BMW NA with ordering an E60 M-sport, I will be seriously looking at the E63. I too have had the opportunity to order one early on, but I didnt want the 4.5. I then found out that they would be offering a 630 model, and had hoped on being able to order that, but then my dealer informed me that BMW NA would not bring it over... so, now, the news is that the 4.8 will first go into the 7er in the spring with the refresh, and then next off is the 6er getting it. I would again wait though to see about the 4.0, as the 7er will get that first too, and then possibly the 6er....

i feel your pain as I have been in a position to buy since last fall as I had paid off my baby in 2003, but with all the limitation by BMW NA and the new engines coming this year, im about ready to explode

Ask them to do a "Vehicle Inquiry: Status" and tell you the production date (YR/MO/WK) and whether there is an actual estimated production date (would be below the others).

Ok the salesman now says: status 112 estimated delivery date: 2005/01/04. He went on to say they couldn't have placed the order or altered the platform if the car wasn't already allocated to their dealership.

So estimated build date 4th week of Jan... then 4 weeks on the water and 1 week at the VPC. I could have the car by 1st week of March. How are my calculations?

One correction. It turn out that I placed the final order on 12/12. I messed up the paperwork!

The real deal..

I am only gonna day this once... because I've been saying this all along but people seems to want to believe what they want to.

1) E90 3 series will start production on late march early April w/ the new 6 zylinder engine. (aka R6 engine).
2) Model Year rollover for the all new 6 zylinder engine on 3 and 5 series ONLY
3) This means that the 545 will remain a 2005 model until the normal rollover time (namely september).

sooo... in short.. new R6 530/525= 2006 MY
545 = 2005MY

Ja, i know this is weird to you, but to BMW this makes alot of sense. And No they don't care what you think....

thatz the scoop,

cheers,

Hmm...
What about the expected changes due to which M5 was delayed.
They will be incorporated in all the models this spring or only in MY2006?
If the latter... Cud they produce at the same time different cars for 545 and 530???...
I only cud imagine they shud just differ in MY labels...

I have too much time on my hands and started thinking... I ordered a MY2005 545 the week before Thanksgiving. It is still "on order, status 112." Based on my calculations I rather doubt I will get the car until the middle of March. 3 weeks to build, 4 weeks to transport and 1 week to get through delivery.(if lucky) So I got to thinking it might not be much more of a wait for a MY2006. Anyone know when they start delivering MY2006? Also what changes if any are planned for the US specs?

Thanks!

You have too much time on your hands. Get the car and drive it.

I'm already used to live with "a lot of sense" from BMW in different aspects...
But anyway interesting which of two possible ways they are going?
