I am irritated how many E60s there are having no labels telling the car?s engine size (525i, 530i, 530d and so on) in the rear of the car. Where I live in Norway practically NO E60s have this label in the back. My seems to be one of really few with its label in place (525i in my case).
I bought my car in Germany and there too seems to be lots of BMWs without this label. In the US all BMWs have labels as far as I have seen.
It?s a small "problem" of course. However I like to see the engine size when I see a BMW and especially a E60. Is this anonymity a snobbish thing, or what? In Norway the phenomenon can be explained by the fact that most people can only afford the BMWs with the smallest engine size (this being 520d ? a diesel with 163 hp), and they want to leave the suspicion that MAYBE they have a 530i or 535d....? Cars are heavily taxed in Norway and the taxes increase very steeply with engine size (save the climate, you know).
How is this in other countries? Do you have the label or not? And do you prefer to have the label or not?

I think it's more of a personal preference on whether or not someone chooses to debadge thier car. I just ordered black one from bimmian and I plan on toying with the idea of completely debadging. I doubt it has anything at all to do with being a snob or trying to make the e60 look like something it's not. Again, just personal preference. I actually can't believe I'm entertaining this....normally I wouldn't even consider it. But now, just something else to dink around with on this beautiful car we have. Happy modding.

Better to debadge than Re-badge, don't you think ? Nothing wrong with keeping people guessing, but alot wrong with trying to deceive people into thinking it's e.g. an M5 when clearly it isn't.

i personally think the car overall looks cleaner and sharper debadged.

I think it looks cleaner without the emblem, but on my 530 I have tried something different. I put on black emblems.
